Living With a Rare Sleep Disorder : Idiopathic Hypersomnia
It took me 3 years, 4 doctors, and lots of tears to fight for a diagnosis. I thought that atleast with a diagnosis, I would find answers and get back to being the old me. But the more time I spent researching, the more I felt myself drowning in the unknown. I kept bumping into phrases like "It's untreatable" or "I feel misunderstood". There was no real platform for anyone to express their experiences, share their tricks of battling IH or ask questions freely.
My hope is that Sleep and Bl*%# becomes that platform. I want to give others a lifejacket so that they don't drown like I did. I want to learn how you manage living with IH and share it in an environment where we won't be deemed "lazy", "unmotivated", or told to "just take a nap". Please help me, help you, help others stay afloat.
